Our Approach

Kristin is a lifelong Carmel Valley resident. She attended college at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco and received a degree specializing in Interior Design. Upon graduating, she spent ten years with Carmel Valley Design as an Architectural Drafter.

Enjoying her work in the design field and wanting to expand her knowledge, Kristin decided to take a new approach to her field of expertise by working with the Design Review Board of the Santa Lucia Preserve. Kristin worked closely with landowners and their consultants, and managed the design, permitting, and construction process of over 50 residences during her five years at The Preserve.  
 

After more than a decade of experience working in the design industry, Kristin and her husband decided to open their own firm. Blackwell Design Consultants has worked on commercial and residential architectural projects from California to Washington, including administrative buildings for the United States Navy and handicap accessible residential remodels for the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Buck's passion for technology started at a very young age. A natural affinity to computers and technology led him to a degree in Automotive Technology and he specialized in on-board computer systems and diagnostics.

After a decade with Ford and Jaguar, Buck opened iProTech and branched out on his own into the world of personal computing. Buck and iProTech handled anything from Smart Phones and Tablets to Surveillance Systems and Corporate IT Security.

When Kristin and Buck married, his focus shifted again, now providing cutting edge design work and extensive knowledge of building design and code compliance for the past 7 years.

Buck's expertise is with everything technical. Building code, to construction methods and land use planning.
